About the Designer:
Tünde Brunette
A client of mine recently reviewed her furniture selections for a living room, dining room, and foyer project. She stopped on the picture of a handmade wooden console from Denmark and was stunned by its simple beauty.
“I love it — it looks so European,” she said.
I smiled and said between laughs, “I’m European; I can’t shake it off.”

As a young adult, I ventured out from my hometown of Budapest, Hungary, to see the world. I traveled across Europe, Brazil, South Africa, Thailand, and Italy. I should say, I lived in Italy; it feels like home. In fact, my husband, our two boys, and I were all born in different countries (Hungary, South Africa, the United States, and Italy).
But why interior design? The short answer is that I can’t help it. It’s a part of who I am and how I relate to the world. When watching movies, my husband has ample time to refill his wine because I’m known to pause at each unique interior room to dissect the design elements. Everywhere I go, my eyes are wide open, soaking in design ideas and taking mental pictures.
I live in a world of pictures and can walk in a home and see its unique potential. It doesn’t take too long for me to create a vision that will stand out against the average home.
